Play outlines which are developed by Digital Petrodata for the eight major geographic regions in the United States typically contain the following data attributes for analysis and mapping purposes;

NRG Play code and name Play type (general and specific)

Province code(s) State code(s) County code(s)

The Play outlines have been developed based on data provided by Nehring Associates. Companies who subscribe to Nehring Associates (NRG) Significant Oil and Gas Fields of the United States Database are able to purchase this data set from Digital Petrodata. Subscribers of the (NRG) Nehring Associates database will also benefit from the in-depth data attributes which can easily be joined to the play outlines.

Availability - Subscribers may choose to license specific geographic regions or the entire U.S. data set based licensing of the (NRG) Nehring Associates database. Updates of the GIS product will be released annually in conjunction with updates to the (NRG) Nehring Associates database.

Data Delivery - Data can be provided in a number of digital formats, including ESRI shapefile, coverage, geodatabase.
